hi joellen,

the 1st is a national holiday, the 2nd is a holiday in madrid. this turns the weekend for the people of madrid in a 4 day weekend. people tend to go to the coast....so traffic can be heavy, then again, a lot of people will leave the 30th in the evening. The best advise I can give you is toi be carefull, the highest accident rates in spain are always during 'puentes' (long weekends).

hope this helps,
serge

ps. enjoy your stay!
