Hola, I'm planning a trip to Sevilla during Samana Santa 2002 and was hoping I could get some suggestions on where to stay for a couple of nights. The two of us, men - both in our early thirties, would like be in the city and are looking for a high-end hostal or b&b type feel.
Also, some help on how to approach the whole Semana Santa Sevilla thing would be cool i.e., restaurants away from the crowds, best places to view the procession, which three days of holy week are the best, etc. Gracias, Rudolfo

We had a lovely 3 day stay in a hotel, that may not be considered too high end (more like upper mid range--$140/night double). Las Casas de la Juderia in the Barrio Santa Cruz, which will be pretty close to the parade route (is that what you would call it?)and most everything else. It is on a short pedestrian street and really quite quiet with lovely rooms/suites. We ate at several cafes in the square adjacent to the hotel and they were marvelous--and inexpensive.

I just got back from Madrid yesterday, and I spent a few days in Sevilla. I stayed at the Hotel Bequer which I heard about in a Frommers travel guide. I got a rate of 99 euros per night and I loved it. The staff is attentive and the location is great. Right near the river and walking distance to all the sights. While in Sevilla, you can not miss the Flamenco show at El Arenal! $29 EU and worth every eurocent! It is a very authentic experience, but you must make reservations in advance as both shows sell out every night! Speak to the concierge at the hotel for arrangements.
