"the man!"

Hi martap, welcome to the message board I have been to Tossa once and it was very nice, in fact, many of the little beach towns up and down the Costa Brava are pretty cool. My favorite thing about Tossa was the view of the beach and the harbour from the castle which (if I recall correctly) is perched high up on a hill on your right as you face the water. My favorite beach in all of Spain however is in "Llanes" (Cantabrian coast), its crystal clear waters, white sand beaches and fresh air. There are 3 very clean beaches in the village of llanes and, due to the cooler water there than on the Costa del Sol, Costa Brava or costa Blanca, there are fewer people and you can actually get a place on the beach to lie down . Saludos, jer...

Hi marcela, dont forget that 2002 is Gaud year and Barcelona is celebrating starting this spring ( more at www.multimadrid.com/cgi-bin/jersbbucgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=16&t=000016 ). Alsso, no trip to Catalua is complete without a Salvador Dal route. The Dal Museum in Figueras (1 + 1/2 hrs from Barcelona and should be closer to Tossa Del mar) is a must see as is a day trip to the seaside village of Cadaqus. As a huge Dal fan, I can tell you that the "melting clocks" (A.K.A. Disintegration of the Persistence of Memory) is at the Salvador Dal Museum in St. Petersburg Florida, U.S.A The link below takes you to that work's page at their website: www.salvadordalimuseum.org/collection/classic/disintegration.html Most of Dal's work is at the "Dal Theater Museum" in Figueras (Girona --> Catalua) which is part of the FUNDACI GALA-SALVADOR DAL. Great website in Englsh, Spanish , Cataln and French at www.dali-estate.org . SURREAL Saludos, jer...

Marcela, Barcelona is very nice but very hot in summer. But if you want to go there a can give a good tip. Try to get in touch with www.halconviajes.com They sell voucher for 2, 3, 4 and 5 stars hotel. The 2 stars are 42 Euros, the 3 stars are 50 Euros and the4 or 5 stars are 60 Euros. There are a lot of hostels in the old town (which is not very safe). But don't miss Tossa de Mar for the kids will love it. Bye, martap

Hello Marcela, In Barcelona, through Halcon Viajes you can stay at the Hotel Nouvel which is open all year round for the vouchers and is 50 Euros the night in a double room. The Ramblas Hotel is very good, is a 3 star hotel and it costs 60 Euros. In Tamariu (beach norht of Tossa), the Hesperia Hostalillo in June costs 60 Euros, but is closed for July and August. There is another nice town, south of Barcelona, the name is Cambrils, and the Hotel Augustus is 50 Euros the night with Halcon, the first 15 days of June. Another lovely beach, only 50 Kms. south of Barcelona is Sitges. There you can stay at the Hotel Antemar during June for 50 Euros. Hope you find this information useful. Bye, martap

For kmoor81: There are a lot of discos in Tossa. The night life is very good, the girls are beatiful. There are many danish and dutch girls and of course spanish girls and boys. I don't know what you are looking for but Tossa is good for all ages. If you go there you will surely have a nice time. martap
