Hey all, I am currently located in Houston, Texas, USA and have USA citizenship. My company has just won a contract in Madrid and Cadiz, Spain. This means about 20 people in total will eventually move to and work from Madrid and Cadiz! Our office is going to be in northeast Madrid, located on Cuesta del Sagrado Corazon and Calle 30/M-30. Is this a good area of town?
I will be reading through all the forums and trying to learn as much as possible. I have taken a couple years of Spanish language courses in my schooling, but I need to practice!
I also need to apply for and get my UK citizenship through my mother (I was born to a British mother before 1983. I was born 1982) Is there a way that I can apply for and receive my citizenship once I am in Spain? Currently, If I want to apply for my citizenship, the UK requires me to mail my passport to their offices for the application. I will need to hold onto my passport so I can travel to Spain, but, once I am in Spain, would I be able to go to the British Consulate and apply?
Thanks I have spoke to Jer by email a couple times relating to phones, but I look forward to talking to the rest of the community here and maybe meeting some people in Spain!
Teague K.
