Hi all!!!
Does anyone have names of good map websites? I already found QDQ through this wonderful site - any more? I am off to Andalucia end of October to look for somewhere to live and what I really need is a detailed mapsite where I can zoom into the villages, without knowing a street name. Does that make sense? Also anyone tell me what the mean temperature is likely to be then?

Heres hoping!!!

If you're referring to 'callejeros' or street maps, I like:

If you're talking about general maps of Spain, Comunidades or Provincias, look around at either: http://maps.yahoo.com or perform a search for 'maps of Spain, Andalucia, Sevilla, etc.' at: http://www.google.com .
Those are all good starting points. The first two will let you perform queries in Andalucia specifically, but I don't know about 'zooming in on a neighborhood.' Maybe somebody out there will recommend something Andalucia specific for you.

The old tourspain.es website had city maps in PDF format, which I thought was great. They looked like pages from a Michelin guide.

Since they redesigned it, they have is a zoom in/out "callejero" type map, which are great, but only show you a postage stamp size view of a section of a city. Frowner I also like having an overview-size map, and with PDF, you can zoom in and out.

Luckily, I downloaded some of those PDF files (Madrid, among them). I'll ask Jer if he wants to post them on his site. Also, I sent tourspain.es a message asking where a person could find these PDF files.

Hi Tony,

Thanks for the reply. Although helpful, they all seem to need a street name included!!! Never mind, on Google, I found lots of relevant information re my visit, which will save me loads of questions and postings on the site!!!

Paulandirene,
Tried your suggested site - I think it still is under construction(?) Managed to find the main road leading to my house here!!! Now I know the number of that road. Couldnt get to my village, but heck, there is so few houses here I was even surprised it was mentioned. Ill try again another day on the site and post if I get anything exciting. Looks like I might just have to go buy a map of the area!!!!

Sue, did you try tourspain.es or tourspain.com? The .es address works, the .com address doesn't.

Hi madsue, just got back from my Jerez trip and saw this thread, great idea for a new topic.

I absolutely love the maps at www.campsa.es , just click HERE for their "mapa interactivo" (interactive map) Cool

If ya ask me nothing beats it. The tools on the righ hand side of the page let you do everything on the map short of eating a piece of tortilla espaola Big Grin

The English version of the interactive map is HERE Smiler

Hi Jer,
Thanks for the site, hope youve had a good trip. Cant wait for mine!!
Cant get quite as "close" to the villages, without knowing street names, as on Paulandirenes recommended site, but am having fun with it!!

I love maps. The one I use all the time for working out routes and telling me how long it will take is that one at www.viamichelin.com
You can zoom down and get quite good information. It's one of the all time greats.
