Hi All

Can you tell me how I can transfer money from my account in England to someone's account in Spain?

The person who my husband is buying from via the net doesn't speak english and my spanish is only very basic.

He has supplied the following information but my bank says it needs a 6 digit sort code and i have no idea which is the sort code

Nombre del banco: LA CAIXA
Cdigo SWIFT:
IBAN:
Cdigo del banco: ####
Cdigo de oficina: ####
Dgito de control: ##
Nmero de cuenta: ##########
Ubicacin del banco: Espaa

Its a surprise anniversay present from my husband... Who said romance was dead!!!

Thanking you in advance
Samxx

Hi Sam,
Well as far as I can see, you have everything you need!! Our company transfers funds every month to various accounts here and all you need is a 20 digit number split just as yours are above!! Have you actually got the IBAN number, perhaps you could try that?

So, Im no help really, just agreeing with you!!! What is your bank in UK, mine is Barclays and they have always been quite happy with the 20 digit number.

Hey sammyl, madsue is right.

I get bank wires from clients all the time (from U.S.A. and Europe, UK included) and all I ever provide the client with is the following.

 Bank Name:
Account holder name: my name as it apppears on my account statements and bank book.
Account number: #### #### ## ########## (you see I put the "Cdigo del banco, Cdigo de oficina, Dgito de control and Nmero de cuenta" all together on the same line).
Bank location: (Here I put the branch street address as well as the city and country).

The SWIFT CODE makes things even easier so it can't hurt to include it.

Saludos & happy spending Big Grin ,
jer...

Hey guys, I just asked about this this very week! Ok, so yes, the bank account number is normally like this:

XXXX XXXX XX XXXXXXXXXX

but in order to transfer from out of the country, the number becomes longer, the number in other countries of the account becomes:
IBAN XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX they add letters and numbers to the beginning. You have to ask the bank in Spain what the added part for out of the country is, is what they told me. I don't know if any of that makes sense. Hopefully! Besos, Joy
