It all depends how important having coverage is to you. 1800 is very popular all throughout Europes, so most places you go to you can coverage with just that. However 900 is a lot better at going through buildings and steel. So if you want to talk from the depth of a building or in an elevator you can mostly only do that with this frequency.

hey mimz, ditto on what fabrizio wrote. you may want to think about buying a tri-band 900/1800/1900 phone, those are the tri-bands that are sold here anyway. either that or get the quad as you mentioned. honestly, i do not think you will have any problems with the tri-band 850/1800/1900 here in spain. don't worry, coverage in spain (and europe on the whole) totally blows away that of the u.s.a., �no hay color! up to you. ah, before i forget, you can get a great deal on spanish SIM cards at www.spainsim.com saludos, jer...
