Ok, since this is my first time back to Barcelona since I launched multimadrid I guess I am more observant than I used to be but I have noticed some technical differences between the 2 cities. Do you think that Madrid and Barcelona choose to do things the oposite way as the other just to be different from their rival city?
Examples:
1) In Madrid the daytime taxi meter fare is fare "1" and the night fare is fare "2". In Barcelona it is the other way around.
2) The turnstyles in the Metro here in Barcelona let you in to the right of where you put your ticket in while in Madrid you go through left of where you slide your ticket through.
I just noticed today and it was driving me nutzooooo. After living in Madrid for so long, I am so used to just putting the ticket through and then going through the turnstyle on the left but when I use the Metro here in BCN, I always slam into the turnstyle bar and then realize that I have to go through on the right. Hard to get used to after so long in Madrid.
3) When you are on the "andn" (platform) in the Metro in Madrid, the train arrives from the right but in Barcelona it pulls into the station from the left.
Are these just coincidences, probably not. Does anyone care about what I am saying here, probably not

but I thought I would bring it up anyway.
Feel free to add to my list of trivialities
Saludos,
