I'm interested in your opinion: do you like booking guided tours or would you rather explore on our own? I'm usually a do-it-myself type of person (don't like to herded around), but if you've heard of some great day-trips or tours, I'd love to hear about them! We'll be in Madrid 7 nights, Segovia 3 nights, with multiple opportunities for day trips and tours! We have looked at day-trip opportunities from Madrid to Toledo, particularly with Julia Tours and Viator Tours. We are also looking for a good Madrid wine/tapas tour with possibly some flamenco. Any advice?

I think going to Toledo on your own would be much better. I will send you some notes if you wish.

Hey bradshawgirl, I agree with davidx, do it on your own but don't go on a Monday, things are closed Eeker

davidx, I think it would be best if you posted those notes here rather than sending them to bradshawgirl personally.

Remember, this is a group effort and a community board so the more public you make things, the better :)

I am sure you understand.

If you think that the notes are too long ot post, feel free to e-mail them to me at jeremy@multimadrid.com and I will put them on my webserver and link to them from this thread.

Saludos,
jer...

Hi bradshawgirl,

"We are also looking for a good Madrid wine/tapas tour with possibly some flamenco. Any advice?"

A friend of mine, Andrs; is running a wine/tapas tour, check out his site www.walksofspain.com. I join one of his tours last summer - and that's how he became a friend. I can highly recomend it - had a lot of fun! You can ask him if he want to take you to a flamenco place.

We went to a place called la Solea once, it's a cool place where people improvice (flamenco). I don't remember exactly where it is (calle cava bajo or alta -or something near by)

Good luck and enjoy your stay in Madrid!
