I made a PC service call to a wealthy woman today,who is going to Spain-Portugal for month on a tour by www.elderhostel.org She showed me the schedule, it will include time in Madrid,Barcelona,Ronda etc!
I envy her luck,its over $6500 ,plus airfares for 4 wk tour

Wow! Too rich for my blood, that's for sure, though these trips are very educational, I understand. Somehow I think I could spend more than four weeks in Spain for that sum, and "learn as I go" I confess I did not look up what is included...
Pack light, sleep cheap, eat well.

My grandma used to go on trips inthe U.S.A. with Elderhostel and she enjoyed them, I think she still does some trips from time to time.
When I was backpacking around Spain for 3 months after my Masters program here I think I spent about $2,000 in 3 months and hit more than 50 cities but I guess ya can't compare the two can you. After all, I ate a LOT of cheese sandwiches
