Hey Iain, glad you learned a lot from
THAT THREAD
May want to check your printer specs again. Unless it is a small, portable printer made for
travel with a laptop, it will probably not be compatible with the higher voltage here.

"Now I am thinking about my big screen TV. I am sure that it won't work, but I have to ask. but I have to ask. It is not 220 V compatable, but I could use an adapter."
I would not risk frying an expensive big screen TV here. It will also probably be rather expensive to ship. If you do not get an EXCELLENT voltage tranformer WITH fuse you may risk a power surge here which could fry the transformer AND the TV attached to it. Some cheaper tranformers have no fuse, do not use one of them on a good appliance. If you get a transformer with a fuse and there is a power surge, the fuse will blow and cut power to the appliance, saving it from being fried.
I learned this the hard way with an Apple Stylewriter printer I had brought over years back. No fuse in the step-down tranformer. I left it printing a loooooong paper for school and went out, got back and...
Many areas of Madrid (and I assume Spain in general) have power ups and downs. For example, here in the Plaza Mayor of Madrid, we have power surges and quick power off then on "mini blackouts" at least once a day, especially in summer when power demand and consumption is much higher.
I have had to set up a UPS on my main PC that runs my webcam to avoid it crashing on a daily basi.
