Me and my girlfriend are planning to wonder around Catalonia in August (see my post in "siestas bw fiestas"). After staying in Barcelona for a couple of days, we will rent a car and see the surroundings, maybe Andorra would be one stop too.

Now we need some valuable hints about where to stay and visit. We have 5 days of time, and after Barcelona and Andorra I guess we are not looking for masses of people anymore, so peace and original athmosphere and reasonable prices are the features that would be nice. And beaches too! Cool But of course anything goes; we won't do the U-turn if we see a man with a camera. We of course are turists too.

There are plenty of small towns and villages in Catalonia (as in any other region in the world), but what do you think? Where to go, where to sleep? What to avoid, what should not be passed? Just Your expriences are requested!

1 Catalonia, 5 days, small car, 2 backbags in a small car, a map, other blonde, other four-eye. Please help us! Big Grin

Forever is a long, long time!

Hey Cosmo, lots of questions there.

I wouldlike to start out by telling you to AVOID THE COSTA BRAVE during the month of August if you do not want crowds.

Tons of Costa Brava beach towns but they are ALL PACKED out during August Eeker

If you want the beach however, you have no choice but to fight for your square meter of beach sand Eeker

If you want to chill and be mellow, head inland.

Some suggestions...

1) Girona.
2) Figueres - worth it for the Dal museum alone.
3) Besal - beautiful little village.
4) Vic.
5) Cadaqus.

Anyone feel free to add more...

Saludos,
jer...
