My flight from Philly to Madrid leaves in about five hours. I'm packed and have a quart-size zip-top baggie ready for my carry-on gels and liquids. Too bad that I'm wearing shoes with laces - when it comes time to take off my shoes in the airport check-in line, I'm bound to hold up the line a bit, but my socks are rather cute...

I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone in Madrid very, very soon!!!

Marsha

Yay, here she comes!

How about we do a welcome Los Angeles gathering for Marsha on Wednesday, the 24th? Give 'er a couple days to get over the jet lag and then assimilate her!

Does that work for people, especially Marsha??

welcome Marsha!!!

actually, thursday feb. 1st. is a better date than the 24th of jan. since the 24th is too short notice for a lot of peeps to get their act together (including me big grin).

i will post this weekend a separate thread for the get-together.

saludos,
jer...

We just got back from a failed attempt to dine at Los Angeles tonight. It was closed. 10.00pm on a Saturday night.....

Luckily, we had 25,000 other bars to choose from !!!!!

Cheers,
Steve

Thanks for all the wonderful messages of welcome! I´m just getting over jet lag and found an internet cafe. My apartment doesn´t have a working telephone line yet, and I still don´t have a cell phone, so I´ve been out of touch with the world since I got here, but I feel much better now that I´m talking to all of you via this rented keyboard. February 1 would be fine for a get-together!

I guess my jet lag hasn´t totally worn off - I meant to say that February 2, Ground Hog Day, is fine with me. Being from Pennsylvania, I´ve always been fond of that little critter.

Argh, Roland and I won't be able to be there as we already have another dinner that night. We could do it on the 2nd, like Mariposita.

From what Steve said, are we sure it's open on Saturday night??

Anyway, if it's on the 3rd, Marsha you know we'll meet up with you sometime soon. Do let us know when you have a phone number. Mine is 617 635 249.

It´s a beautiful day in the neighborhood, and I´m pleased to say that I found my local cyber cafe without help from anyone! I now have a móvil and would be happy to talk to anyone with a few minutes to spare. The number is 600-635-978. I won´t have an internet connection in my apartment for a couple of weeks. Either Ground Hog Day (also known as St. Brigid´s Day)or February 3 is fine with me for a get-together.

Hasta pronto,

Marsha de la Isleta
