You can see a diagram and they give outlet adapter types, phone jack types and voltage ratings.
For example, my appliances (digi-cam, phone, etc...) are Spanish and Spain uses the B-2 adapter. Tunisia uses the B-2/5 adapter so it would seem I do not need any adapter for my "pluginables" :jeje:
A word of caution re: adapters and hair dryers. If you do it incorrectly, you are liable to blow out the power on the entire second floor of the Hotel Ingles. You need the prong adapter, PLUS the electrical doomaflatchee that makes 110 speak to 220.
If you don't do both, the nice man at the front desk will politely suggest you maybe had the TV on at the same time (which created the problem), but the look in his eyes will speak volumes.

In Madrid All Things Are Possible...Except Skiiing Through The Revolving Door At The Ritz
:jeje: We did the exact same thing in Torremolinos last October :jeje: Thought we would be really clever and just change the plug on the travel iron rather than faff about with an adaptor. It worked ... except we forgot to switch the voltage from 110 to 220... and boom, put the whole of the seventh floor of the hotel out of action

Thats a good link Jer. But I want to know if anyone can tell me what the type of cable or coaxial plug is used on standard Spanish televisions and especially where one might find an adapter to connect and use analog u.s. equipment with Spanish? I am referring to v.c.r's, etc. Do any board members out there know what that type is known as? A friend of mine there has some u.s. equipment and would like to be able to hook it up to thier Spanish television set. I would really appreciate it.

I didn't know that American equipment was any different! Don't they have the standard coaxial/composite/s-video or scart connector? Spain is on a different system than the US - NTSC v PAL but that's nothing to do with the connectors. What does he want to connect to what exactly?
Dont know the technical terms for all those wires behind my telly, but we have a stateside vcr linked to a Spanish telly, via a British satellite box. I have looked at the connections and they are all the standard red, yellow and white thingies, plus a scart plug. Everything works fine!!!!!!!!!
Its a woman thang!!!!

I have just seen a Samsonite plug adapter for five different areas,... Sorry, but I did not check the price. I saw it at El Corte Ingls, but I recall seeing it at DeViaje -quite expensive place-, and I guess it would be easy to find at Samsonite dealers.

Okay. Let me be more specific. The television's of my friends have only a coaxial type input, or at least it resembles that. No other inputs. But that is not your standard coaxial we use stateside, such as RG59 for general purpose like this, Or RG58 used for satellite usually, or RG6 usually for ham radio, etc. I just wondered if anyone knew the technical term for that particular type. I can find an adaptor I am sure if I know just what that particular plug or cable is referred to or termed as, thats all. This shouldnt be too difficult for someone who is familiar with Spanish?, or analog euro video equipment or t.v. I'm drawing a blank on this through any web searches, sooo, muchas gracias for any help.

And guess what? In Britain they just call them "standard coaxial socket"!!! You could try searching for that or "euro tv connector" or "IEC antenna connectors"
