I was wondering if anyone could give me information on the Barrio de la Concepcion. What is this neihborhood like? how far is it from the center of Madrid? etc. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi mach5, I have been out there on business and it is a residential neighborhood with nothing really special at all. A few highrise (as highrise as buildings here get anyway Big Grin ) and offices as well as headquarters for many brand names and such. Never looked at rent there but it will cost you less than the center for it is not nearly as attractive a place to live. The architecture is a bit ugly in my opinion but it is not a far Metro ride from the city center. You can easily get to Sol with only 1 change of Metro lines in about 20-30 minutes since the #7 line was joined with the #2 line at "Canal". You can get to "Callao" even faster via the #7 and #5 line combination.

I have never actually lived there so I guess my feedback is limited but that is my general impression of the area.

Hey thanks Jer! I don't actually want to live there, but the team I will be playing for is located in that area. I just wanted to know how accessible and what kind of neighborhood it is. I arrive in Jan. and hope to be in Spain until July. I am not exactly sure where I am going to live yet. What neighborhoods are around this area? Thanks for doing a great job on this board and for all the great info!!
