As some of you may or may not know, I am changing my home base from Madrid to London over the summer and will need to sell and give away the stuff that I have collected over the last few years in Madrid. I need to get rid of everything by July 4th. Ads for all the stuff I have for sale and to give away can be found in the classified section of this site. The full list of pictures and prices is: www.madridinsider.com/moving and the link to what I will be giving away as time runs out and I go along is here:
Stay tuned to this thread as in the last 2 or 3 days that I am here I will be giving everything away that I can not sell for free as I do not want to leave my neglecting landlord anything that he can make use of or take advantage of. Rocco.

Shawn. Thanks. I hope that everything sells too. But whatever does not sell will be up for grabs to any lucky mm'er who comes by my place in Sol on July 3rd or 4th. Everything must go so both items I come across while packing and also any items from my moving sale page that do not sell could very well end up being given away for free. All you will have to do is stop by, claim it and then take it away.
I will remove the items from my moving sale page as they sell and then finally create my give away page on July 3rd so people can easily see a list of all of the things that are left over.

Yeah, good luck with your move to London Rocco, I'm sure it will all go smoothly, you've got plenty of experience of moving stuff & relocating, so it should.
I might just mention here, (and I don't know if you still smoke cigarettes or not) maybe not, but, as of July 1st, in the United Kingdom, Smoking in public places will be outlawed/banned, and as we've heard recently the local authorities are going to fine anybody for dropping/throwing any cigarette ends onto the floor/pavement etc "£80" pounds GBP, and I think that the shit has yet to hit the fan as far as that one is concerned, and I think that there will be a lot of trouble in the big cities like London, as there are huge numbers of smokers, just like in the big cities of Spain, Madrid. Barca, Zaragoza, etc, smoking is really big in London, so you might want to bear that in mind when going out for dinner/drinks etc.
Good luck in any case.
Saludos.

Sorry Rocco, couldn't remember if you did or not.... but anyway, you'll now be even more pleased about the new legislation in the UK, no more hoards of smokers hanging around, chucking their dog ends everywhere!!

Angelo. Thanks for the heads up. I was actually pleased the first time I saw the Public Service Announcement about the No Smoking thing on my Sky Digital. They said that this kicks in on July 1st, so it gives me about a month head start for everyone to get used to it before I get there. For me this is great.
I do not smoke but I have been approached by smokers in the UK who have asked me to bring them over a carton or two of cigarettes when I visit them. Maybe this will help them to finally quit?

I wish the states would fine anybody for dropping/throwing any cigarette onto the floor/pavement etc or out the window of their cars. There have been so many times I see that and with the NYC no smoking indoor law it just pushed all the smokers in front of every building for the pedestrians to breath in. The U.S.A needs to catch up with the Europe.

Like I said. Right now the stuff I have to give away kind of sucks but will get better and better as time runs out.
Right now I still have back issues of the In Madrid and Broadsheet along with other tourist information. I have 6 pairs of barely used white tube sport socks that were too small for me and a pair of black sandals (size 11) that my feet are too flat for. I have some bottles of bleach and a good bit of Colon Laundry detergent left over from a huge box I bought. I have two fixed IP modems. One 3Com and one US Robotics. More later...

Better stuff on the way soon... Right now I have: Back issues of In Madrid and the Broadsheet plus other free Madrid maps and tourist information. Towels, plastic baskets, paper trays, plastic waste paper or toilet basket. Two 'monopuesto' fixed IP modems. Wire and / or plastic Clothes hangers. Then on Wednesday night or Thursday morning I will have 3 dishes, 3 glasses, 1 coffee cup, forks knives, spoons and various plastic cups and food containers. Finally I will have a single fold up bed frame and a mattress-like cushion that work as a good temporary or guest bed.
