Any suggustions for alternatives for Vinager, I use it for cleaning the coffee maker and I can't seem to find it anywhere. At least not white vinager, any suggustions of what I can run through the coffee maker to get rid of the calcum build up? I've seen red wine vinegar but I'm not sure its the same
thanks

White vinegar is also great for stretching leather shoes or boots. I know it sounds weird but it works wonders. My mom brought me a bottle from Poland.

You're welcome Tim, and yes, they do sell bottles of ANTICAL at Carrefour, that's where I get mine, and it is really good stuff, I'm sure you're making good use of it already.
I glad you posted, I was thinking of replying and this saves me having to look for the old post
anyways found some left over vinager and ran it though the coffee maker and rather than the usual mucky white water it was quite clean, turns out Madrid water although not the best tasting is quite clean. So I haven't bother buying any.
One thing I've noticed in shopping here is that people don't use reusalbe bags. Expect for the odd wheelie bag most people use plastic bags. Which surprises me becuase it is a royal hassle to lug up 10 bags (particluarly if you shop at Carrfour) Saw one lady strugglying with 10 bags, purse, and 6-7 months pregnant, what a pain. I keep my large reusable bags from Germany and use them all the time. Only thing I use plastic bags for is perisables so if I can't bring everything up at once I at least remember the frozen stuff.
I also use the wheelie bag for water when I stock up
