Is the drivers license as expensive in others countries as in Spain?.At the moment I have spent 600 euros and a lot of time. Razzer

By the time you get the licence not even it is left money for the insurance of the car.

Hi MC. We were discussing this somewhere else a few weeks ago, and I think it must be in any country!!! Here in Lanzarote, the driving schools dont let you take the practical test until they think you have paid enough money! In the UK I believe it is something like 35 per hour lesson, and they like you to have two hours at any one time!! Very expensive I agree!! At least in the UK learners are allowed to practice driving without an instructor, as long as the person with them has a full driving licence, which can cut the cost down. Here in Lanzarote, that isnt allowed.

Been looking up information on DL and came across this usesful link (for those with EU licences anyways)

Cars and Spain

Generally my understanding seems to be that all EU drivers licences are valid and do not need to be exchanged. If your British and a resident of Spain it is recomended that you exchange it for a Spanish one as the Guardia Civil are likely to fine you for having one. Seems the law keeps changing and they don't keep up. I was pulled over for talking on my phone (since bought a hands free set) and they accepted my German DL and documentation, along with a 105 euros paid cash.
