C'mon, Jer, if you know Spanish well, and I know you do, you can struggle through Italian pretty well! This is such a great idea; I've been doing this at home for years now, and, in fact, better go throw in a load of wash right now!
Pack light, sleep cheap, eat well.

Hola Jeremy, Im at Ondablu, what a fantastic idea. I am surfing while I wash my unmentionables. Not wasting any time since I needed to check my e-mail and get advice, etc. Thanks so much for your advice! Carmen

Great Booklady! Glad you found the place and are taking advantage of the wasted laundry time. As the clothes go round and round you can go round the world .
jazzbo, when I went in there a while ago to take the photo I forgot to ask what the Internet surfing rate was but I think the cost of the laundry service was 1.000 pesetas to wash and another 1.000 to dry (1.000 pesetas is about $6 USD) and that seemed a bit steep but it costs the same (or close) at the other laundromats around Madrid and at least at Ondablu you can kill the time online.
Wow, $5 a half hour to use the Internet, ouch . I just got back from Portsmouth England where there were a few cybercafes that cost 5 pound sterling ($750) an hour and I thought that was ezpensive.
Hey Booklady, can you tell us what the surfing fee is per hour? You would save me the trip over there again
Hi Jer, sorry it took me so long to answer, but I got back on the 1st and have been running around! Onda Blue was great. It was a bit steep, but consider that if I had my clothes laundered at the Hotel Suecia, it would have cost me $26.00 to do the same laundry. So it was a bargain. The Internet was 300 pesetas per half hour. This is more than I paid at BBiggs at the Calle de Alcala. Bbiggs was great, here the cost was 300 pesetas for one hour.
I recommend Onda if you're in the neighborhood. Extremely clean and very nice attendant! Booklady
