Must be a temp. visualization problem with your PC. I checked it from a friend's Internet Caf today and it is fine (checked from 3 different PCs there.
Hops it gets straightened out.

p.d. tonytorero, why don't ya put your school's URL and name in your signature so it apears after every post along with the wise words of Chief Wiggum? You know, like my signature has multimadrid.com below all my posts as well as the shameless cell phone rental service plug.
Well, with as much as I like to listen to the wisdom of Wiggy, that's a pretty good idea....
I guess I was afraid you may see it as my having too much 'morro' for my own good, but since you're the best dog-gonded web master this side of the Mississipi, I think I'll go ahead.
Man, I sure have screwed up this thread....

Nah, you can use both the "Wise Wiggum" and your URL and mention the school as well, maybe a play on the fact that is Wiggum had gone to your language school, he would have been even wiser
Not to worry, most threads branch off after only a few posts and this one lasted 25 or more, a record on my board!
Also, I like when people put their webpages in their sigs (discreetly) and I think yours will add to the richness of multimadrid, you know, offering jobs to ex-pats and all. Go for it! If you need help changing your signature to include the link, let me know.
The best webmaster this side of the Mississippi, awwwww shucks, you are far too kind. I do what I can
I'm no web master, but I've come up with a little, subtle pluggy type new signature.... Here it is.(drumroll please)
Too bad you don't accept HTML tags. I could have some fun with it. Oh well, it gives me an excuse to learn something about UBB which I don't have previous experience with. We'll see what I can come up with.
Peace....

Cool web site. I found the colegio mayor I lived in for my first month, as well as the piso (looks much better now) that I lived in for the rest of the 1987-88 school year. That's my balcony on the top floor!

I'm replying to the 20 day work weeks. Is this seriously norm.? A friend of mine is constantly telling me of a village near Madrid that is having a holiday, or festival, or something similar, or the city! And that people in general,(native employed Madridians) are off work, for a day or two, anyway, on a somewhat regular basis. Or at least that is not uncommon. Thats part of whats so nice, I think. No grinding american work ethic's here, I hope it stays that way. At least the time I am there living. I'll do my part to forget about it, dejar partido!!hahaha, orjejeje?

Right, found it. It was my quote about the fotos @ QDQ project.
It was not "20 day work weeks" as that would be killer but rather 20 work days per month...
quote:
"20 X 300 X 120 (20 work days per month X 6 months) gets me 720,000,000 photos. Still off by 20,000 but I guess those were the ones that came out badly so they did not count them"
Well LJ, Mon.-Fri. make 5 days per week X 4(.3) weeks per month = 20 work days per month, yep!
Hombre, there are a lot of "fiestas" (holidays) and such that often create a "puente" (long weekend). For example, if their is a festival on a Thursday, people will often take that Friday as well and make a 4 day weekend.
There are some jobs however that do not give the middle day (in this case the Friday) to their employees so it is just a Thursday off.
Thought I would just revive this old thread, seeing as it has been dormant for a year and a half now. There are many threads such as this that have been forgotten, which is so sad, because they contain some really good links, to some really interesting fotos etc.
So here is yet another link, to some rather nice fotos of Espaa. Hope you enjoy them.
