Hi tora, welcome to the board. Hmmmmmmmm... that is a good question. I know there are plenty of them who advertise in the free mags such as InMadrid and the Broadsheet but unfortunately they target visitors and ExPats and are more expensive than the average Spanish real estate agent. Usually they see you as a rich foreigner and their properties are for sale WAY above real value. As it is, flats in Madrid are out of control price-wise and nobody needs a super-expensive real estate agent to make the price even higher. So, I would suggest using a Spanish one and just getting a bilingual lawyer to help you with it all. You will need the lawyer either way so why pay more for the English-speaking estate agent as well. Saludos, jer...

Hi tora, ʹm with jer on this. You dont really need an english speaking estate agent, after all, a flat is a flat is a flat etc, and you dont need the language to look at a place. However, it could be quite useful to take along a Spanish friend when looking at property to ask all those "little" questions for you. This friend could even pretend to be the interested party, which does stop the prices from being bumped up. As jer says, you will definitely need a bilingual lawyer to help you with your purchase. Also, usually the notary will insist anyway that you have an official translator with you when you go sign anything.

Hi Mate, I live in the centre of Madrid and my partner has a very successful real-estates business. She is native to Madrid so her and her Mum can definitely point you in the right direction. They buy, sell and rent apartments/houses of all ranges. They have sold many apartments to the Real Madrid and Athletico Madrid players as well as people like yourself and me. If you want to get in touch and enquire more, then please feel free post here. Cheers... Si

Hi Simon, is there a website we could look at? Does your partner only deal with property in Madrid, or further afield?

Website currently under-construction by yours truely . Apartments are availble mainly in Madrid, but it depends on where else you are thinking about. There are 3 companies which are called "Casa 2000" and the other 2 are "Web house centro inmobiliario" The companies are near Avenida de America, Tetuan and Quintana. They will be Spanish speaking if you go in and enquire, but like all real-estate companies they have the photos in the window. If you would like to speak personally with my partner, then please post here. Cheers... Si
