I am a blog addict, I have to admit it. Have been reading several from Americans living in Spain. Yet,I have to say that this fellow has by far the best general interest one, and he is living in Madrid!! It is occasionally political, but for the most part is just a peek at Spanish life. Hope you like it:

Hi Toni --
Thanks for sharing the link..his writing is great! I, too, am a closet writer and send "home" (to my friends around the world) a monthly (or so) newsletter of my trials and tribulations here in Spain that I have entitled, so originally, "Life In Spain"...

Awhile back, my sister suggested that I create a blog but I am rather thickheaded when it comes to new technology...it takes awhile for me to catch on. So I havent created one yet. In the meantime, my mother and couple of friends are saving all of my "chapters" to send them to a publisher some day!

His "oops" link to Atlticos webpage really had me laughing!

Jejejeje, I am normally all for the underdog but in this case the Atleti is SUCH an underdog that it makes no sense to root for them.

I am surprised they do not just get rid of the Atleti and Rayo Vallecano and have one Madrid team :jeje:

Hey Jer, I know the last four years of Atletico are sad, but it's a club with 100 years of history. I don't know what will be the future because all the problems that are around Mr.President Gil & Family and all the vultures around, but I hope that it'll be again in its place, there's a lot of support behind it. Being so underdog nowit's still the third team in pay per view matches.
Well, I think you all have guessed which my colours are Wink
Going back to Spanish life I don't know why always futbol appears, but I remember once a friend came with a Scottish friend and everybody was to shy to speak in English with him at first, but as the night and the beers were passing  someone began to speak about football with him and then everybody began to discuss giving his opinion although the English wasn't good. He had a lot of fun!!

Hey sedusa, I think it means BioLOG but can not be sure Confused

Not to worry, this is the first I have seen that word as well and I consider myself to be pretty techy.

From whatis.com:
quote:
A weblog (sometimes shortened to blog or written as "web log" or "Weblog") is a Web site of personal or non-commercial origin that uses a dated log format that is updated on a daily or very frequent basis with new information about a particular subject or range of subjects. The information can be written by the site owner, gleaned from other Web sites or other sources, or contributed by users.
Weblogs are the fastest growing trend on the web. Sites like blogger.com make it easy for non techies to have their own place on the net. Like the rest of the net most are not worth your time but there are a few good ones out there.

Cheers,

Ian

i have just discovered and become extremely fascinated by blogging myself (not unlike flogging myself, but that's another story).

another place that seems "free and easy" to set up your own blog is www.20six.co.uk .

i am interested in setting up a blog for my own psychogeographical explorations in madrid and want to discuss mobile blogging (uploading photos/audio/text) from a mobile phone for a 24 hour "drift project" that i want to do in madrid in the near future. any mm'ers already doing this?

also i remember reading something about a guy doing a street level photo-mapping project of madrid where you can search any street address and see a photo of the building. does anyone know the url for this site?

boneshaker

ps. bonus question: are there any mobile/cell phones on the market that are gps inabled? sorry, i am a little bit behind on the tech front at the moment.

Livejournal.com is a great free blogging site, although you have to get a code from a current user to start yours up. I'm happy to provide codes to people if they'd like to try it. My journal is at www.livejournal.com/~tknotchr. My friends and family are anxiously awaiting reading about my upcoming Spanish adventures!
