I am looking for any good recommendations for internet links to sites that offer good deals on day, weekend trips and/or last minute travel plans both within Spain and Europe in general. Confused

I have heard all the talk about www.lastminute.com , but honestly I don't care for it much because all of their flights, trips etc. always originate from the UK from what I've seen. Razzer I am looking for something in Spanish or in English that is a good source of ideas for those of us who don't have time to plan trips with a lot of time beforehand.

I tend to work 70 hour weeks and am starting to get Spring fever. I'd love to get my family out of Madrid on a weekend and discover someplace new and fresh. Any and all ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!! Big Grin

Hey tonytorero, would be great if such a last minute service existed within Spain itself but I have never heard anyone who does that for a reasonable price Frowner

Maybe that is my next business venture Big Grin

I agree, that last minute site is way oriented towards the UK and it is expensive as well, saw flights there London - Madrid -London for 150 - 300 pounds round trip, certainly not EasyJet.

If I hear of anything I will let you know.

Saludos,
jer...

p.d. Wow, a 70 hour work week, that's like alomost half of mine Wink

Just to refine things a bit and perhaps clarify my original post, I'd also be more than thrilled to hear of a site or resource that could offer good deals (on the fly or not) on, say 'casas rurales' with train fare or something similar.

It'd certainly be nice to get to know other regions of Spain, but with as much as people like Jer and I work, Wink I'd be thrilled just getting away from Madrid for the weekend. (My apologies to you Madrid nuts out there and a certain Webmaster we all know. Red Face )

Have you heard of Bancotel?

I think that you can sleep on three/four start hotels for just 46,88 Euros by night.

Bye!

Hey Totx! That looks to be a pretty cool site. I've been checking it out as much as possible today and I like what I see. What's more, it seems to cater to people like me who plan things last minute.

It works on a sort of voucher system where you buy a packet of 5 tickets/vouchers for 270-ish euros and you can use those tickets at hotels all over the world. In Spain in particular, they seem to have good selection. I have been looking in Sevilla and I see a lot. You can't make the reservation though for a long time into the future though.

The available dates are good for usually the 1-2 weekends into the future at the most. And they have between 3-5 star hotels in their lists that I've seen. Good suggestion my man! Keep 'em coming!!

Hi tonytorero!

I'm glad you liked this link. Just one little correction. You say that you must buy 5 tickets. Ummm!. I haven't read the web but ... there must be something wrong. Or not?. Two years ago you needed to buy a bunch of 5 "talones" but nowadays you buy just the number of talones you want. They have a duration of 1 year since you buy them. But you can buy just one (or two, or three or ...) each time.

My parents gave two tickets as a present to my brother on Christmas and they just bought those two tickets.

Maybe ... I'm wrong. They went to an Halcn Viajes agency to buy the tickets. Maybe it's not the same. Why don't you look at
Halcon Viajes ?

The information about those tickets is in the zone called "Weekend Plan".
If it's not the same that Bancotel is very simmilar. I've always thought that it was the same. Maybe you'd prefer to go to an Halcn Viajes agency to inform you. It's the biggest travel agency in Spain. They give you a book in which you can look up the hotels that you can book with your tickets depending on the price of the tickets even if you go there just to inform you.
TALONES WEEKEND PLAN AZUL 36
TALONES WEEKEND PLAN ROSA 42
TALONES WEEKEND PLAN VERDE 50
TALONES WEEKEND PLAN DORADO 60,1
TALONES WEEKEND PLAN NARANJA 75
TALONES WEEKEND PLAN GRIS 90

With the pink tickets there are a lot of 3 and 4 star hotels.
