Everywhere I turn everyone is complaining about the heat and I was wondering if anyone had any great ideas for beating the heat. For instance, when I lived here three years ago I kept a spray mist water bottle by my bed and I would spray my top sheet till it was mildly saturated then direct a turning fan towards me. I might have to re-spray a couple of times, but it usually kept me cool enough to get to sleep.

Now I've figured out in my new apartment that if I leave the balcony door open and my bedroom door open I get a cross breeze from my window. It works so well that I need to put on a blanket at some point in the night. I've also taken to eating a lot of popsicles. Ok, thats not terrible original, but I like popsicles so any excuse works for me.

In New York people go to the movies as they are super cold, but I'd rather save my money, unless it's a really good movie of course. Also I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but J&J's basement, where all the books are is really cool and they don't seem to mind if you spend hours down there. At least no one has complained when I've done that. Any other ideas? Especially ones that involve spending the minimum amount of money.

Trying to keep my cool,
Bonnie

If you are inside your piso....fill a large pan with cool tap water and put your feet in it. This has always worked for me.
