hey Evert. i may be wrong but i am pretty sure that NO driving schools in madrid offer lessons in english. i believe you can opt to take the test in english but i have not heard of schools giving lessons in languages other than spanish. if you search the board here for stuff relate to licenses and driving in spain you will get some threads that mention your being able to take the tests in english but, as i said, i have never seen info about lessons in english. saludos, jer...

I've talked to a few people who've gotten thier DLs here and they said to forget about doing the test in English, the translations are sooo bad to render them almost useless. If you want a Spanish DL unforunatly you'll have to do it all in Spanish. Great way to learn the langugage thought!

Agree there Rob, about the translations. In fact I remember posting the exact same thing on here! However, although you cannot take the practical test in English, you are allowed to have a translator with you in the car for all your practical lessons...well you can here anyway! Off topic here, but can anyone help. I've just renewed my spanish driving licence and now am the proud owner of a tarjeta style licence! On the back are the various class of vehicle I am allowed to drive, and various numbers pertaining to various things! No 12 is for Observaciones. Typed on my No 12 is 01,102! Anyone have an idea what this means? I've been on the official website, and whereas it explains most of the other numbers, it says nothing about this?
