Hola all,
I'm an irish girl, recently moved to Madrid. I love salsa dancing, and am looking for some tips on places that do lessons,.... and even better, someone who wants to go dancing with me! If you know of anywhere, drop me a line!
Hasta pronto,
Elaine!

Hi Elaine,

I personally hate dancing, in all of its forms. Well, OK, there was this one in Mexico I saw once, about imitating a dying iguana, that looked OK, but there was far too much tequila and I don't think its apt for club dancing.

Anyway I do have a good friend who is really into Salsa, I'll tell him to join multimadrid or email you directly. Maybe this way he'll stop bugging me about going with him to Salsa classes.

I hate quotations. Tell me what you know.

Hey, Elaine! I'd love to go with you! Salsera could tip us on places where we can get classes. I've gone with her several times to some places, but they were people who already knew how to gyrate those hips. I can also ask a fried to recommend a place.

I am definitely up for a night of salsa dancing! It has been way too long and my charm and coaxing does not seem to be enough to get chico to go with me!!

For me, Thursday's fine. In fact, I THINK that most formal CLASSES in these salsa places are given on weekdays at an early time. Then on weekends I THINK they just let everyone in and swing it. At least in one place I know, they would give classes only on weekdays. Will check around with friends if they have more info.

thuersday is a good day at Ozona disco. If you have an invitation, you can pass free, and have a drink free. Avda del mediterraneo. Classes at 10, for begginers, and at 11, for intermediate.
Ramdall is a good place too. Beautiful, and very good dancers. Calle Ferraz. www.salsaenmadrid.com
here you can get a lot of information about places and classes.
See you soon

Hi guys!!

Yes, I've got a couple of recommendations for Randalls too - sounds like a great place!

Jer, I take your point that the weekend is probably a better night, but they dont seem to do classes at the weekend... So how about we go this thurs and then check it out some other weekend!

From what I know, in Randalls they do lessons from 10:30, and then the club is from 12:00... We could meet somewhere at about 10:00 and then go to Randalls?

The address is Calle Ferraz 38, and the nearest metro is Ventura Rodriguez (See link : http://www10.mappy.com/sid/ScHbnhrcybMn21w/CFGMA?csl=m1&fsl=m1&gsl=m1&msl=m1&xsl=1&out=2&wnm1=ferraz+38&wcm1=&nom1=&tnm1=madrid&tcm1=&a10m1=&pcm1=&ccm1=724&x=12&y=15 )

Sounds like this is gonna be FUN!!! Smiler

Elaine!

By the way. I just spoke with someone who says that in Randalls on Thursdays, the classes are more advanced. The Tuesday sessions there are the basic classes. Maybe we can try the other suggestion somebody mentioned? The Ozona? I am willing to try one or the other.

Hi Elaine! We will definitely be joining you on Thursday night, although we arent beginners. So, we may not be there at exactly 10pm on the nose. I will keep my eye out for Tin since I know her...

See you then! Smiler
