Man, I'm sooooooooo bummed. Talk about a day late and a euro short!!! I did absolutely nothing last night chilled with cellis. I would have loved to go. Sorry I don't frequent the board often. Well, next time you would like to go, please let me know. I go salsa dancing at least 3 times a week. I'll be going more because I just won a raffle to free entrance into all salsa clubs for 1 year and a discount on other salsa shoes!!! Drop me a line if you would like to meet again. I have loads of passes to different places. And "I know people". (tee hee). I hope you all had fun. Will someone please post about the outcome? Hope to be there next time. And yes, I do give salsa classes. Long live salsa!!!!

Well, it is pretty clear by now that we the get-togethereros are way cooler than the sucky salseros, right? By now on the mm get-together thread was packed with comments with people that attended. A big boooooo to the salsa dancers... :y:
I hate quotations. Tell me what you know.

well... a big booooo to those who didnt come. BTW Fabrizio... I heard that you cant salsa... so you, for one, should have been there last night! We had fun, that is for sure... In the end it was Elaine, ngel and I for the classes. Juant, where were you? We looked for you and ngel even called your name out loud several times... but alas! You werent there (or simply decided not to identify yourself ) Surprise surprise when Gerardo appeared (I didnt recognize him at first... surprisingly he recognized me outside of my v-ball gear ... or in my salsa gear!). Needless to say, ngel and I left around 12:30 (I had an 8am class today) but we left Elaine in good hands ( ), right Gerardo? Last time I looked, she had a smile wider than the Puerta del Sol on her face and was spinning wildly about the dance floor. Tin we definitely missed you! Jer and Ena, you will have to come out in the future. I see this becoming a regular activity. Salsera, you were definitely on our minds last night and mentioned you in conversation several times as well. You teach Salsa and jer has an available office/classroom... hmmmm maybe some multimadrid salsa lessons? Sorry I didnt call you... thought you were following the board but didnt want to be with novatas.. next time definitely. Elaine, Elaine....do tell how the rest of the night went!!

glad you all had fun. a few observations... 1) Chica... quote: Needless to say, ngel and I left around 12:30 (I had an 8am class today)
i thought having to get up early was no excuse 2) eclarke... quote: Gerardo (not on this board but friend of Fabrizio)
Gerardo actually is a member of the board. his nick is "GR", see his profile HERE. 3) while i am not against salsa dancing (will surely go one of these times), i have to agree with fabrizio, nothing beats the tapeo get togethers  saludos, jer...

First of all...i must say that there are no valid excuses for not showing up (at least for a short while) to salsa...I think we all have our early friday commitments, so unless you are ill or out of town, the rest are classified as poor excuses. :z: And yes, we had a good time...I was great to put a face to the names. Elaine was outhere showing her rythm, I do not believe for ONE SECOND that it has been 2 years since she last danced. Nevertheless, I can see that pretty soon, she will probably be giving classes herself (watch out salsera). I must also say in defense of my friend fabrizio, please, just because he looks like the posterchild for "Nerds against rythm", don't think he can't dance...he just doesn't LIKE to dance....one day just get 3 vodka-tonics in his system, he'll be doing Bretney Spears, Michael Jackson, and Celia Cruz all No Problem....its just a matter of time. Looking forward to some more salsa...I think next week is Randals or Tropical House...Other Suggestions??

Sounds like everyone had a great time! Looking forward to the next salsa adventure (as always). Let me know what day you all are looking at and I'll suggest a club. Usually, I help teach an intermediate level class on Tuesdays at Azucar. But another place to go is Serrano 41 (remember the last salsa get together). Wednesday is a good night at La Sal. Okay, someone just throw a day at me and I'll throw you salsateca.

I had heard Serrano 41 was OK, do they have classes?? Same question for La sal?? Personally, I enjoy experimenting new places and have never been to La sal or Azucar...how is the dance floor? Comfortable? What days are good?..

Hi ya'll! Greetings from Nashville, TN! I'm new to Jer's site, but am already a huge fan. I'm excited to say that almost a year since I was last there, I will be returning to Spain on July 16 for a hard-earned vacation. If there is any salsa dancing going on between the 16th and 26th, I'd love to join you! My boyfriend, who is originally from Mexico City, will be traveling with me and I'm ecstatic about showing him the "madre patria." While this is beyond the scope of this thread, I also want to mention that I'm applying for Middlebury & NYU's program, and am hoping to start in the fall of 2005. It's a long way off, but I'd love any advice or input you have about these schools. Hasta luego ....

Arrrrgghhhh! I am so pissed off I missed it. Had some urgent thing to attend to. But I am glad that it looks like there will be a next time. This week, though, am pretty busy with a convention. So, I won't throw out a day since I might end up not being able to go. But please do let us know when you guys are going. If I can sneak off from the convention, we'll be seeing one another.
