Hey jetaway, Qu pasa guay?, that is a new one for me Where are you taking thos Spanish classes anyway Jejejej!
CGT (hwww.cgt.es) stands for "Confederacin General del Trabajo" ("General Workers Confederation").
There is a general protest...
quote:
"Los sindicatos de banca, ahorro y cooperativas de crdito Confederacin General del Trabajo (CGT) ,CC, CSICA, CCOO, UGT y CIG han convocado una manifestacin para el mircoles 30 de enero en Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla, Mlaga, Granada, Valencia, Bilbao, Zaragoza y Palma de Mallorca."
... as it says in Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla, Mlaga, Granada, Valencia, Bilbao, Zaragoza and Palma de Mallorca. There is a detailed explanation of the protest at www.cgt.es/actualidad/PROTESTA_EMPLEADOS_BANCA.html but more or less this protest is for the bank and credit unionists. They want more employees to be hired, a 1,000 Euro pay raise, 6 days more paid vacation or Saturdays off and pay for overtime hours worked. The 284,000 workers in this sectior claim that the banking situation (working in banks) has gotten harder since the entranc of the Euro in 2002 and say they have no time to do all the book keeping, accounting, etc... within their normal working hours.
Really all very boooooooring stuff but there you have it!
