with all the great offers on adsl in spain these days, i thought it would make for a good thread, especially since the older adsl thread on the board are a bit out of date.

both charge 35�+iva for "alta" (setup) and give you a wifi router for free.

ya gives you a FAR SUPERIOR wifi router (3com) compared to the "D-link" crapola router that jazz is giving away. that is basically why i chose ya.com over jazztel.

in the end, it really comes down to availability in your building. when you get a landline in, you have to put it into the websites (ya.com and jazztel.com) and see if they can cover you for adsl and at what speed.

the ya.com 1MB wifi i have at home with the free 3com router is the one that is completely filling the plaza mayor with wireless --> www.plazawifi.com (coming soon).

Thanx Jer. Handy to have it distilled down like that. Ya sounds good to me and 1Mb will be a dream! I see their international (UK and US) calls are flat at 0.08/min - is that a decent rate in Madrid? I believe Telefonica do some kind of Friends and Family deal which can make international calls to selected numbers very cheap after 8pm but no idea HOW cheap.

hey Mark, yeah, the page at http://acceso.ya.com/tarifas/voz.htm that you saw has decent rates but you can do it a LOT cheaper.

as a general rule, "telefonica" and "cheap" do not go in the same sentence so be cautious.

if you go with an adsl+free calls deal, save yourself the "establecimiento" (call connection fee) cost of 12 cents/call and use the eurodirect card in combination with your home phone deal as i explained on THE OTHER THREAD. no connection fee and .0075 cents/min is pretty unbeatable!!!
