Hi Booklady! According to the blurb in the Gua de Ocio, Mayumana is based on the hebrew word "Meyumanut" -- destreza in Spanish meaning skill or dexterity. Its a musical from Israel that is described as a spectacle of percussion, humor and color.

Hey chica... I don't know whether it's the same or related to 'STOMP' or not, but thought I'd mention that I heard the whole troupe on the radio (Europa FM) a week and half ago. They were giving interviews and demos of some of their material. I thought it sounded pretty cool myself. ...For what it's worth... I guess their main thing is playing percussion and singing to carribean types of beats, however their percussion instruments can me one of a large assortment of every day household items if I understood correctly. They don't use your typical congosas, bongosas, etc. I liked what I heard. They seemed to be having a lot of fun with what they were playing as well. poseso.... Tony --- English Unlimited... Hola y Aloha, amigos! Yes, Ive seen Mayumana recently, and, although it was quite well performed and produced, and I totally loved it, the prices were a bit steep (30 Euros for mid-priced seats on a Friday) for a performance of only about an hour and a half or less, with about the last 15 minutes of it being kind of a drawn-out curtain-call without anything really cool happening... But the meat of it was pretty excellent, particularly the "scenes from a restaurant" part (see it and youll knowhutImean)....Lots of energy, and use of the theatre for the performance...Definately a happy vibe.... On the other hand, if youre just a fat daddy with a wad to blow, by all means, see it! Sure beats seeing the Jackass film six times.....(but of course, it doesnt beat seeing the Jackass film SEVEN times..jejejeje ) Snootchie-Bootchies, Choop
