I know, and those things are neat as hell (how much do they cost per month?) but is more a matter of principle...

Seriously-I completely appreciate everyone's help-and, Fab, I would LOVE to be proved right about this-cause it annoyed me to be told constantly that I was the problem. Especially when I was quite willing to try to fix my computer however they thought appropriate-but they had ni puta idea (to quote Jer) This "tech" guy was a complete idiot-he played with the ipconfig a million times, asking it to ping different sites, which it failed to do, because IT WAS NOT CONNECTED. And he did look at his laptop and copy different IP addresses and DNS numbers a few times. BUT, mostly he caused problems by starting up my computer and then trying to shut it down immediately (why? why?) causing error messages from programs that were in the process of starting up that were then cut off. After a half an hour of his fiddling and what looked like doing damage to my computer which I had just got working with Jer's help, I hightailed it out of there-leaving him trying to fix the other girl's computer (don't know what happened there-still not sure how it was my personal problem if the last three people to try to connect (me, Jer, and this girl) could not.

But I thought-already spent WAY too much time out of my life on this and Jer found me a solution. Bottom line: Hostal Madrid-nice place, decent prices with apartments with kitchen, laundry, etc and nice owner who cares and will try his best. BUT do not count on being able to connect to their wifi. So, Fab, come to coquetas on Thursday and I'll buy you a beer!
