I am now launching my own free peer to peer Playstation 1 & 2 and music (mp3) sharing service.
We call it 'Roc-ster'.
How it works is that you bring me the blank DVDs or CD roms and I will burn you a copy of any game file that I have in my databases in exchange for you contributing your own Playstation 1 & 2 games / mp3 music files to the 'Roc-ster' database.
I (Rocco) will be doing the games and a friend the MP3s.
For more information contact me at 669-804-530 or roccosalata@yahoo.com

How is trading files for free with your friends / peers illegal?
As long as there is no profit or money involved it is totally legal. Isn't it?
There is some tricky legislation at work here but I am sure that this can all be done on the up and up and nobody needs to be in violation of the law.

Have you not heard of such trivial things as "Copyright" or "Intellectual Property". Whilst I'm sure you mean well, the authorities take a very dim view of this, whether for profit or not, it is irrelevant, what you are suggesting is akin to stealing in the eyes of the law and they are really cracking down on this. Yes, I'm sure most of us have the odd "Pirated" CD or DVD and so none of us are whiter than white, but what the authorities are looking for are persistent offenders, people who copy large volumes of music/games/software/films etc, which you are intending to do.
Don't think they won't catch you as they will, they monitor the use of file sharing networks like Kazaa etc and can trace you via your IP address, so by advertising your "service" on a public forum like this, complete with your contact details, you are saving them a lot of detective work.
If I were you, I'd delete the thread and scrap the idea, just some friendly advice, I wouldn't want you to get in any trouble.
I spend most of my money on beer and women, the rest I just waste.
Okay. I will scrap the idea of trading / sharing games with people.
I never really intended involving software or the internet.
I was just going to trade / share games with friends on a small scale / face to face, where I borrow their stuff for awhile and they borrow mine.
Once again, the rest of the stuff on this thread are what other people are supposing / adding and a misinterpretation of what I really said.
'Roc-ster' Version 1.0 is just a spoof on Napster / Kazaa / Imesh / morpheus, etc. and never really existed.
Jer. You are free to delete this post whenever you are ready to.

saludos, jer...
p.d. and if i get enough e-mail requests from members/lurkers to do so, i might just add your home address to this thread so the "man" can find you even more easily.
