Some friends of mine shot a documentary that they want to enter into American film festivals. Can anyone recommend a good place to tranfer the doc from PAL to NTSC (almost all the festivals require an NTSC version). Any suggestions with info on quality and prices would be well appreciated!
One of the best ways now is to upload the PAL video to a computer which has video editing software and then just create the NTSC copy of the project which you can burn to a DVD.
Otherwise, you can just take the PAL original to a friend or shop that has a NTSC recorder and PAL player. If you have the video machines all you have to do is connect the two audio outs and one video out from the PAL video deck to the the two audio in and one video in on the NTSC or dual NTSC / PAL deck. Stick the blank tape in the recorder (NTSC) and press record. Put the source tape in the player (PAL) and press play.
