Yes, that's right, free ON-LINE TV shows, movies/films, documentaries, etc. For all expats living in Spain, Canaries, Balearic's, etc, if you're itching for some American or English TV, this website will be of great use to you.
There is a lot of stuff on there to find, and I'm sure that you will be able to find some of your favorite shows from the US, and maybe watch a movie or two.
This facility will be of great use and immense value to those expats who are not yet in a position to install some form of system, Satellite or cable or whatever, or TV antenna, and have to rely on what the can find on the Internet for a while, and this website will I'm sure fill that gap while you're waiting to get things sorted out. Of course, a Lap Top with Wireless installed would be necessary, then simply find a good wireless hotspot to log into, and away you go!!
I hope some of you will check it out, and perhaps report back & let us know what stuff you found.
If your Divx player don't work too well on your pc/Laptop, download the update/new DiVX Stage6 player & let it install itself, or Install the Veoh player.
I -DO- strongly recommend that you -DO- all go to the Veoh TV website at www.veoh.com/ download and install the Veoh Launcher. Believe me I have done this, and got my brothers & a few friends to do so as well, and they are mind-boggled with what they have been able to get & download for free so far. I/we have got this player/Launcher setup on our PC's and it is definitely the BeeeeeezNeeeez, forget about all the others out there, use this one!!
Ok, well? has anyone used either tv-links.co.uk or - Veoh.com?
any feedback on any of it? facilities? quality? functionality, etc?
Oh by the way, you might find that some of the links on tv-links have gone kaput, and I can only recommend that as you find the dead links, you report each one with the button provided, as it will be looked into, (eventually) as you can imagine, it's a very busy line of business, and time consuming. I do hope that some expats staying in Madrid/Spain will be able to make use of it, and clearly better than having no tv at all to watch. It makes you realize just how valuable a good Laptop pc really is, in my opinion, it is something that every expat staying, living, working, studying, in Madrid & other parts of Spain, should have, and with them at all times, it is a must have item, not to forget to mention the super cheap Internet phone calls that are now universally accepted as being the norm, if you think about it, an American in Madrid is out & about, gets a text on the mobile, call home, urgent!! what are they gonna do, go into a Locutorio and spend a weeks wages on one call? I don't think so, better to find a wireless zone and use one of the Voip services, or even better, arrange for your friends & family to meet you on line in a private chat room like Yahoo's for example. I hear what you're thinking, you don't want to have to lug a laptop in your mochila around with you all the time, especially in summer, that;s true, it can be a pain, but I'd rather have mine with me than not, if you've ever been in trouble, real trouble, while away in Spain, you'll understand just how desperate that feeling can be, when suddenly you realize you need your laptop urgently, and didn't bother to bring it!! There is another dimension to it to consider as well, imagine you're suddenly faced with the offer of 4 days work, for €1000's cash in hand, but need two things, 1) you must have a laptop, 2) you need to start immediately, and you can't do either, and he's not going to wait for you to go home & get it!! Am I trying to sell laptops here, of course not, just trying to make clear the Importance of having one, and keeping it with you at all times, as you never really know where & when you might need it, that's all.
I'm sorry Angelo, but your posts above have made me giggle this morning, though I'm sure they weren't meant to
I had this image of me firstly buying a laptop, then downloading the program to watch TV, then running around the town looking for a hotspot so's I could sit down and watch some I'm sure I'd have some very funny looks!!!!! The thought then that I may lose thousands of euros of work because I didn't have a laptop with me at all times, on the offchance someone might need me right there and then........not a very likely scenario is it!!!!

But seriously though, I'm sure you'll agree, that some expats will realize the significance and Importance of having one, and as for the on line tv thing, well, again, it will definitely be of use to the many who simply are not in a position to have a normal tv, and in that case, they're not not gonna be too bothered about what others might think about it, so long as they can get some, and free at that, so it might seem a little unlikely to you, but try & imagine the expats who have to move suddenly, many working under the table, or under the radar, they need to be mobile, and go wherever the work takes them, so for them it is a very likely scenario, and probably a very welcome one to, and if that weren't so, there would be no sense at all in us having wireless zones all over the place, I mean, after all, that is the general idea of having them there in the fist place, Isn't it? and another reason why Wireless ready Laptops are so popular now!!
Cheers.
By the way, are there any Wireless zones on Lanzarote? In the Airport perhaps!!
I am sure there are some here Angelo, but as I don't have a laptop I wouldn't know where!! Well I know theres a hotspot outside my house, and very useful it is too, to the people who live up my lane!!!!
