Hey binkx, If you read through this entire thread you can see that the initial links I posted for sending were broken (Vodafone must have detected that too many messages were going through that page),

Unfortunately, the latest web we were using for free SMS sending at http://ciberia.ya.com/websms has also been found out by Vodafone and now only 50 messages per day can be sent via that system Frowner

Since the page probably gets 50 visits per second Eeker , the daily quota is probably used up in a flash.

Thanks Antti, you are the man. ICQ used to only allow sending to the Vodafone network, neither Telefnica nor Amena were on their affiliate network list but going back now I see that Telefnica Moviles are on the list for Spain and Vodafone & Amena are not, weird. From ICQ we will not ba able to send SMS to anyone with a Vodafone or Amena cell.

I am going to go try to send an SMS via ICQ to a Telefnica Movistar cell I have.

So, the only way to be able to send to any of the 3 carriers (Movistar, Vodafone, Amena) is to be a client of one of them and to use their websites to send.

I for one can not make my personal account public for it would surely be blocked as was the Vodafone one I posted at the begining of this thread. Big brother is watching!!!

Saludos,
jer...

Thanks espe3 but unless I am missing something and you know of a free SMS sending service at LaNetro, it is yet another pay service Frowner

It used to be free (like many other) but now you have to register at http://sms.lanetro.com/registro.asp and then they send you a password via e-mail...

quote:
Estimado Usuario:

To activate your membership, you must send an SMS from a cell phone to the #5354 which has a cost of 90 Eurocents + IVA for a total of 1.04 Euros and they then give you a credit of ONLY 5 free SMS messages Razzer

So, messages cost you 21 Euro cents each Frowner

Once you use the 5, you have to pay for more.

The search continues!!!
