mariposita, you can always get a small antenna for your decoder and put it in the window if your buildings antenna is not compatible and they do not want to upgrade it.

HI Angel@47.

We just moved here and already going through Sky Plus withdrawal (although I don't' miss the 80 euros or so they charge) I have Telefoncia TV and compared to Sky Plus it really sucks.

Anyways, are you referring to Freeview (or Free to View)? Do you get BBC 1-4 ITV Channel 4 etc I was under the impression that you need a Satellite Dish. We live in an Apartment and they don't allow sat dishes on the building.

I tried to send you a PM but you've got that function turned off so hopefully you'll see this post.

Eagerly awaiting your reply

rob, Angelo@47 was refering to a small antenna that he uses with his DVB-T box (tdt receiver) in u.k.

in other words, the same digital terrestrial televisión that we get here now, only in u.k. it is surely more advanced.

rumor has it you can improve the signal and get more channels with an antenna.

saludos,

Well after much aggravation and hassle we are finally moved in and well the house still looks like a tornado went through, it has much improved/

Anyways, I bought a Siemens digital receiver yesterday (60 euros) and hooked it up. I'm quite impressed we get about 25 channels and the reception is really clear. A few channels offer the OV which can be switched at the box.

We're still going to go with Telefonica as they offer more Amercan shows in OV, but overall I'm quite impressed with it. If you don't watch much TV and speak good Spanish than digital is the way to go.

Of course for English TV Sky Plus is the Gold Standard.

I should add one thing I'm surprised at is that they only show American shows (and this is true anywhere in Europe) I never see British shows dubbed and broadcast, which is odd.
