Whats the best place to get a good deal on video equipent and editing programs? I prefer a mom and pop join (I love to negociate)...Looking to pick up a DVX-100a and some editing equipment. Also, where can I find (negociate) a deal on Computers, especially Macs... I cant stress enough that I need a place where it is possible to talk to the owner.
i'm pretty sure that the words "negociate" and "mac" are totally incompatible. you know, the price is the price.
not sure about editing stuff but i would scope out the technology section of segundamano paper for that stuff.
also go to calle barquillo (metro chueca or banco de espaa), that is the meca of audio/video in madrid. start at the end that hits gran va and walk your way up, there are chain stores as well as a lot of mom&pop type stores.
Your best bet on Mac stuff is K-tuin (http://www.k-tuin.es/). Prices are non-negotiable unless it is a really big purchase, and it doesn't sound by what you need that this would be the case. depending on what you are buying margins are less than 5% so really don't expect a lot from Mac resellers nowadays.
If your talking to the owner is in order to get support, even K-tuin have downgraded that service a lot. You can buy a support service from deferent Mac shops for about 50 euros/hour.
