Hi everyone!
After my vacation this year in Spain: I'm now sure. I want to study Spanish. But I love MADRID sooooo much, I really want to study there, but my question is: is that uberhaupt possible for a Dutch girl to study Spanish in Madrid? I only speak a little Spanish...Maybe the study is also given in English? Confused I hope it, because I can't stay longer then 1 year away from Madrid!!

Hey Carline, I TOTALLY agree with Sueki (by the way Sueki, welcome to the group Big Grin ).

The whole idea behind the Spanish schools here is for you to be able to learn Spanish.

There are MANY schools and they offer language classes at all levels as well as extr activities, cultural lessons, etc...

Madrid is a great place to study Spanish in Spain, if not the best city to do it in. I also recommend Salamanca and Sevilla for learning Spanish.

Take a look at my SPANISH LEARNING SECTION Cool , there is even a good list of some of the better schools in Madrid as well as resources online to help you out.

I also just added a new forum to this board for practicing your Spanish HERE so don't be shy, you can write in Spanish there to practice.

My SPANISH LANGUAGE HELP FORUMS are also HERE on the board to help you learn. I personally used to be a Spanish teacher and will be happy to do what I can to bring you into the Spanish speaking world Big Grin

Saludos,
jer...

JER< THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I WILL CHECK EVERYTHING NOW!! :l:

By the way, is it also possible to study Spanish at a university in Madrid?

And what can you do with it because I don't want to be a teacher?

Don't worry about not speaking spanish, you will learn quickly and the most people attending language schools are in the same situation, after all, all language school have beginners classes,I think you should do what you want and come down to Madrid and learn spanish!

Im in Madrid to learn Spanish for the next 6 months and I want to know peoples thoughts on language academies in the city. I just checked Jers Spanish Learning Section and I found 2 schools that were very affordable: Acento Espaol and Aula Cero. Each were a little over €100/4 weeks for 16 classes. But Im concerned about the quality because they are so much cheaper than all the others. Does anyone have something to say about either of these schools? Also, is it worth paying the extra money to do an intensive program?
Thanks for the help

Hi PL, if you are going to choose between the 2 schools you mentioned above, go with Acento Espaol. It is a good school, quality of education is high and the school is beautiful and VERY well located right off Puerta del Sol.

They also have extra-curricular and cultural activites and parties and their "Terraza" is awesome with great views of Puerta del Sol Smiler

As for the intensive course, since you have 6 months you can probably pass on the extr fee and just take normal classes.

Saludos & let us know how your studies go and where you end up learning Spanish.
