Hi, first time user. I am a 20 year old male attending college in NYC, although I was born and raised in Kentucky. I've decided to study abroad next semester (Spring '08) and I've narrowed my choices down to two cities, Sevilla and Madrid. The thing is, I just can't decide between them. I spent about three days in Madrid a couple of summers ago and really liked it, but I just didn't have enough time to get a good feel for the city. I lived in Andalucia (Granada) for about a month and it was great too, so not much help there i guess My priorities are first and foremost to improve my Spanish (I'm intermediate level right now) and second to have a great time (nightlife, food, etc). I've heard that spring is the best time to be in Sevilla because of the festivals, but I've also heard that the Andaluz dialect there makes studying the language difficult. Sevilla sounds more traditional and friendly, which I like, but I also feel that since this is my only opportunity to live in Spain I should live in the cultural and political capital that is Madrid. I hear a lot about Marid's great night life, but I would imagine that Sevilla's big enough to the point where it doesn't make that much of a difference. For example, I've lived in New York for three years and still haven't been to anywhere near all the good clubs. I'm rambling, but my point is I just can't decide. I only have a few days left to make my decision, and I would really appreciate any feedback you all could provide. I realize that this is a Madrid forum but hopefully the replies will be unbiased. Thanks for your time. -Alex.
