Does anyone know anything about the becas MAE, which are scholarships given to foreigners by the Spanish government (Ministerio de asusntos exteriores), to complete post-graduate work/research/studies in Spain for up to one year? The webiste where I found this information is: www.becasmae.com. I was wondering if anyone has ever applied for one of these scholarships with or without success, or has any other comments. Thanks.

I am already enrolled in a program starting November 3rd. Sadly, the school never informed me of that program. I found it on the net only last week. I think I am too late to apply BUT you can get more info if you call the embassy of spain in D.C. The Cultural Office has info about it. It seems like it's worth applying for. Although I'm not sure if US students are high on the priority list to receive funds.
Note: When I called them to ask, they couldn't find the booklet NOR could they get the CD about the program to function.

Here in the Philippines, Becas MAE is the recommended scholarship here for foreign students who want to study in Spain. It's very popular here but from what I know, not really open to Americans- at least not in the Philippines. I'm going to Cervantes and the embassy within the week to research. Will update you on it
smile!
