Thank you to everyone! I'm going to go North.

Does anyone have any ideas where I could find reviews or recommendations of the language schools up there (Santander, for example)? I have been searching but there is little information.

I guess that would be a "con" to studying off the beaten track, but I'll just have to rely on the old adage, "You get out of it what you put into it."

Hey! I COMPLETELY agree with ALL the sugestions and comments of Shawn2, but I will stress the virtues of Burgos against Zaragoza, where the accent is stronger (besides is much larger than the lovely Burgos). From Burgos you can reach all the cities along the norther coast in less tha 2 hours and the natural & cultural possibilities are incredible (caones del Ebro, bosque de Santiago, Santo Domingo de Silos, Covarrubias, Oa... you can list hundreds of unbelievable places) for not to mention the Camino de Santiago that crosses the city.

On the other hand...dont be too worried about chosing the riht place. I can tell you that all the cities in the north of Spain (maybe with the exception of Palencia :z: )are so beautiful and full of possibilities that you will have the best time of your life in any case Wink

Hey Perita en Dulce, shawn2 meant to write ChUlapas, here are some pics...

CHULAPA BACK

CHULAPO & CHULAPA DANCING A CHOTIS

CHULAPOS & CHULAPAS GALORE

The women of the popular classes of Madrid were refered to as Chulapas (and men "Chulapos") due to their niceness and all around attractiveness in the way that they behaved and dressed.

You will not see them around Madrid on a daily basis but the yearly SAN ISIDRO festival is a great place to find the streets filled with them, a blast from the past!!! Cool
