I just got my student visa and under number of entries it says 1.

Does this mean I can only enter the Schengen area once and then I can't leave? Or does it mean I can't leave Spain once I enter?

OR does it mean that I can't leave Spain/Schengen area until I get a national student ID card?

that is odd kangarage.

i would not think you would be limited to entries as a student here but perhaps i am wrong.

i mean it makes sense that if you are studying here you may want to go home to u.s.a. to visit family at the holidays.

saludos,
jer...

p.d. thw "Location:" below your post which you filled in on your profile is actually supposed to reflect where you are from and not where you found my website but i got a kick out of your "Google search" big grin

kangarage--

When we got our student visas (almost four years ago), it said "MULT" (multiple) under number of entries... not sure why.

Keep in mind that your visa is only for entering the country--once you get here you have to apply for student residency (really estancia). Then you can come and go as much as you want.

The way that residency here works is that you must come into the country with the proper visa in order to apply for a certain type of residency (student visa for student residency, work visa/permit for residency that enables you to work, etc.).
