Hi Jer- I have a vodafone SIM card for Spain and i bought a triband phone (Sony Ericsson model) in NYC. it is unlocked so my Vodafone card will work normally in Spain, yes? I tried it here and it works, but does wierd stuff, like ring to call its own voicemail. But i connected to Vodafone, so im assuming it was acting funny since it was on roaming and there is crappy mobile coverage in washington DC.

Hey Gata, that calling of the voicemail is a Vodafone service, it is completely normal, not to worry. When you get a voicemail, your phone will ring and when you answer, it connects to your mailbox. May not want to use that in USA though (or anywhere else outside of Spain) as they will charge ya for it. Saludos, jer...
