hi baney, welcome to the board.

i had to edit out your salsa question as there is already a thread on salsa lessons on the board (as you know). it is best to post on that other thread even if it is from june, makes no sense to start another one on the same topic. i prefer that you revive the already existing thread. please feel free to go back and post on the salsa class thread.

as for art lessons, not very artistic myself (aside from the magic i create on my pc Big Grin ) but i used to see some art lessons in the InMadrid classifieds ---> www.in-madrid.com/classifieds . however i just went back and it seems there are none this month

a few important question that will surely help other board members to lead you in the right direction...

1) do the lessons need to be in english or can they be in spanish?

2) what type of art classes are you looking for? just saying "art" is very vague.

saludos,
jer...

hola Baney, qu tal?

Well, I studied arts before the Univ and I used to take classes in an Academy called: "ESTUDIO 13". I think you might find it in Internert, but if not, just let me know.

The teacher is a nice man and you can listen to classical music while you draw and splash you brain trying to find perspectives.Thing is...u must speak Spanish, they don't talk in English.

I can offer myself to teach you Children's Book Illustration and basics of drawing. Thing is I am trying to find a "real" job in Advertising, my scope and no time at all!. We can talk anyway Roll Eyes

I've been wondering about Estudio 13, since I walk by it a few times a day. It's on the second floor on Calle de Toledo, just a few blocks south of Plaza Mayor and a few blocks north of the La Latina metro stop.

Xari--if you don't mind my asking, what classes did you take there? What was the level of the students (all advanced or a mix of beginners and advanced?).

thanks for the responses everyone!
thing is, i am at best a novice in the art field, and while im trying to learn spanish, my current level leaves a bit to be desired....

so im kinda looking for some pretty informal classes in either watercolor or pottery (random i know). in spanish is fine for me, as long as the teachers understand that there is going to be a bit of a language barrier!

any more ideas given more info? thanks again for all the info in general!

best,
heather

hey baney, glad to help.

ok, if your spanish is not up to par, i woud suggest you either...

1) find the classes in english.

or...

2) take private lessons at first so as not to frustrate the teacher and hold back the rest of the class at the same time.

Hi,

You might also try:

El Crculo de Bellas Artes (near Cibeles)
and/or
La Casa Encendida (mear Embajadores)

The first one has great kids classes and seems to have some good adult clases also.

Good luck! :s:
