Hi eve, although Barcelona is not the ideal place to study Spanish (Madrid or Salamanca would be a better choice), try...

www.enforex.com/school_barcelona.html
www.donquijote.com/english/barcelona.asp

These are 2 good schools to look into, both have programs in Barcelona.

Saludos,
jer...

p.d. did I mention that it would be better to study Spanish in Madrid than in Barcelona Big Grin Wink Red Face

I can tell you that Don Quijote is pretty good, there are some good teachers, but it is pricey compared to some others...I went to DQ for a little more than a month and was happy with it...Check out the Barcelona website, in the Guia there are quite a few schools.

Sorry, I havent had access to internet for a while... To be honest, my time in Spain is coming to an end and Ive decided that to stay in Madrid would be much more easier for me. I am working on it... But its kind of hard, because my Spanish isnt very good...
Still be grateful for whatever information...

For about two hundred dollars a semester, you can study languages (Spanish, Catalan, Italian, French, etc.) at the Escola Oficial d'Idiomes in Barcelona. The classes are four days a week.

Unless they have changed the process, the only catch is that you must matriculate in person at the school. This means you take a placement test and then enter into a lottery for a spot (if the class is in high demand). The higher your level, the better your chance of getting into a class.

There's not any handholding in the process--it helps to have a Catalan friend help you out.
But it's a tremendous deal, you just have to spend a few days waiting in line, dealing with mass confusion and getting more papers stamped than you ever thought would be necessary...

hai serge,

im not studying in barcelona or madrid, i am following my course in salamanca.
the flat i am living in is fine. everything is working, its clean and i have great housemates. but, youre right, some apartments are really old. in that case you just have to ask for another/better one, that is what i did.

ciao
