I'm just starting the convalidation process and have an upcoming appointment with the lawyer you hired. How long did it take exactly to actually get everything convalidated upon hiring the lawyer? How long does it normally take if you do it on your own? What did the lawyer exactly do on your behalf? I have all my transcripts and Apostilles for each of them. I do not have course descriptions and I have yet to find an official translator. Any additional info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry, but I JUST saw this post! Did you already get your degree convalidated? Mine took only maybe 6 months in order to get the first part "licenciada" with no degree in particular and less than one year for the full convalidation: "licenciada en administración de empresas".
A friend of mine had been trying on his own to convalidate the same degrees as I have (BA Economics and MBA) for around 2 years. He finally hired the lawyer I used (on my rec.) and got his approved in around 6 months.
Anyway, if you see this, let us know if you also had a good experience with this lawyer and if you now have your degree convalidated.
Good luck,
Val
