Hey lin-san, hmmmmm... got that "blood, sweat and tears" comment but let's not let this turn into a swedish language board That's what www.multisweden.com is for, jejejeje Great comment on getting a job at IKEA here, there are 3 of them very close to Madrid and I have been many times but have yet to see a Swedish person working there But as you may know, the IKEA furniture is "designed in Sweden" but made in China As for ENFOREX, I have done some web design work for the owner and he is nice, his school seemed very proffesional to me as far a sI could tell but I never took classes there. I agree that the housing is SUPER "CARO" (EXPENSIVE!!!) and hearing Shawn's (Redwood) stories about the doors not locking, NO WAY! I am a trusting guy but not THAT trusting I do not have any experience with Don Quijote but it looks like a very proffesional outfit as well. I DO know that =elemadrid= is a quality school All in all, some will like their schools and others will not, that is totally normal and good since we are not all clones. As for the speaking of English in the classroom, it is my opinion as a Spanish teacher (or ex) that no self respecting Spanish for foreigners school (especailly in Spain) will have teachers use English beyind the first few days. They usually set the rules in English and then it is 100% Spanish from there on in to creat an atmosphere more conducive to learning the language. Have fun and check back with us during your stays here in Spain. Saludos, jer...

oh jer, I'm sorry about the swedish sentence, honestly, I didn't do it on purpose, I just had a terrible long day and my head is dizzy, having my 11 last days in Sweden I have to work, spend time with my love ones and prepare my trip at the same time, I'm tired. As for IKEA, I've heard it's easy for swedes to get a job there in Spain, but I have to talk better spanish first, but after a month I will probably go there for a a job. And H&M and Make Up Store are also in Madrid now, great for me, but I doubt I will get a job just because I'm swedish, on Ikea maybe but not on H&M and Make Up Store. Anyway,no more swedish, I promise

Jejeje, I will let it slide this time You can ask ena (my gal :l: ) about H&M, they have 2 stores here, one right off Puerta del Sol on Calle Preciados (ladies clothes only) and the other near Metro Goya (guys & gals clothes). Never heard of "Make Up Store" but will ask ena when she gets home. Funny that it is easy for Swedes to get work at IKEA her since it seems that there are none working there, you could be the first. If you can and want to, definitley use your "in" as a Swede to get a job there. Every little bit helps! Saludos, jer...

wow jer, is it "in" to be swede in Spain, trust me, I will use it, haha! Well, the IKEA thing, my friend in Barcelona works at IKEA, and she said that they love when swedes work there because it gets more "exotic" and more "swedish", plus that we can actually pronounce the names of the furniture The reason to why you don't see many of us in the stores are probably because the most people don't think about to search for a job thre, well, I didn't until I heard that I really should go there from my friend in barca. And working in IKEA is not very "flashy" I guess the most choose to work as a bartender or in a spanish tienda becuase it's a part of the whole "moving to another country" experience, I just want to have more money. An jer, is the closest IKEA to Madrid far away from the center? Don't like to move long distances when I'm not having my car with me

Hey Linda, jejejejeje, as far as I know it is in to be a Swede anywhere you go. The Swedish women are famed to be very beautiful as you may know As for the nearest IKEA here in Madrid, see the IKEA thread HERE (we at multimadrid cover it all ). There is a bus to get there from the Plaza Castilla, see the thread. Saludos, jer...

Linda Hey - youre going to Lofoten and Im going to Stockholm today (4 days) thats cool You have been lucky to find an apartment, the rooms that enforex are offering are so expensive and after what Shawn tells I dont want to live there. I do need a room, but Im coming in April so if you still need a roommate, Im interested... Hilde

OK, some feedback about enforex.... Ive been in the school a while now, and I must say, I LOVE the school. The teachers are great, Ive learned so much since Ive got here. I can agree that the books dont explain all the grammar, but, thats because the books are served more as a workbook with exercises, we have special handouts and the teacers explains the grammar. Anyway, its a great school, everyone Ive talked to there loves it. And if youre going here for a short while with the intend of learning spanish as fast as possible I really think you should live with a spanish family. Many of my Enforex friends do that and they love it!
