Hi all mm-ers,
I am back in the home land, and hating every minute. OK, I'm being a semi-drama queen. I have only been back in LA for less than 24-hours, but can't stop thinking about Madrid and Spain. I am sad, very sad to have left the land of tortilla (my absolute fave), chupitos, churros, and lung cancer (jejeje). I just want to say THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! to all the folks at mm, especially Jer (and Ena) for making my year-long "vacation" absolutely wonderful. Multimadrid really made my Madrid home, well, home. I will do my best to come back to Madrid sometime in the future. I don't know when or what I will be doing, but I'll be back. I have to!

I want to especially thank Jer, Candy, Kira and Adrian for being so warm and friendly. I alredy miss you all. And if you ever want to come to Los Angeles, San Diego or any other part of California, mi casa es tu casa. OK, my parents' and sister's casa is your casa.

Madrid will always be in my heart.

Yah!! Yah! W'sup Tevia?

Well if it's any consolation, I feel your pain. I was in madrid for 2+years before moving to Sacramento, CA in summer of 1999. Yeah... it didn't hit me cuz I got soo comfortable and at home in Madrid, until the plane took off and I suddenly realized I didn't know when I would be back again... and everytime I meet people there or who've been there... I jsut break down... QUIERO VOLVER!!! JODER!!! Ya no sabes!! ...LOL. It's gettin to 4yrs this summer... and enough time has flown by... it's probably time I make a move...

I hope u have a speedy recovery... I'm still somewhat trying to recover...LOL

"Tevita",

I second Candy's feelings. I hope you start feeling better very, very soon, and I'm sorry I missed the last vb game, it would have been very nice to give you one last hug, but the Eurovision themed party at Candela's was fun, wasn't it? Smiler

Keep on "Sedusing"!!! Red Face

Besos :ks:

P.S.: No worries! next time you visit, Candy will prepare you a 'tortilla de patatas con cebolla', Adrian will make another one with 'calabacn', and I'll make you a 'tortilla campera' one, guaranteed. AND, you'll meet a wonderful UE national whom you'll eventually marry....sorry I can't guarantee that Frowner .

Tevia,

I am sorry that we didn't get to hang out more. You will come back to Madrid soon enough and that will make you happy. You may consider just taking the plunge like I am doing and seeing what's up with Spain. I can't take any more of my life here and I know how you feel. TRUST HONEY!

Come back and visit us soon and I will also make a good meal for you.

Shawn

Aw Tevia, I think I can speak for a lot of us when I say that we totally understand, most, if not all, of us have been through it, that's what we're all doing here on the board! I would love to tell you that it gets better, but I've had Madriditis for like two years now and hell, I'm going back in two months, that's how bad it got! hahaha, I had to go to grad school to go back hahaha. Every paper I write I just repeat "madrid, madrid" haha. But really, the best part about this board is that it enables those of us that are in the states, or anywhere else, to feel as though we can still take part in something in Madrid, as though we can still have that part of our lives, we're not as far away, we know what's going on, when something new opens, when something happens, etc, you know? It helps, so we'll be seeing a lot of you on here I'm sure! For now, just enjoy CA and the fam and the little things that you love about the states (I know there have to be one or two). Besos, Joy

Take a walk down to the nice beaches you have there, take some nice drives up to Monterey, visit NYC (shout out from me to NYC!!) cuz it's better than LA Red Face , enjoy the summer and your nice town, and organize your return tranquilamente.

ciao

you guys are great!!!!

Dude, that's my motto! I keep saying that to everyone I meet. I was at the bank today (unfortunately helping my mom put her money in her account and sucking money out of mine) and all could talk about was Spain. I think I nearly killed the bank attendant.

Pim, I am also sorry I never got to say a "real" good bye to you. Hmm, just another reason to return. The one good thing about being here is that I have my car, and it's not 40 celcius. I'm actually cold and people are wearing shorts!!! Last night I slept with 4 blankets, and in Madrid I could barely use a sheet.

Hey, have to look on the bright side.

 have a Mahaou for me!

I have a few pics up from the days in spain. I'll put more up as soon as I get my act together... LOL ...here:

Sand doggin'!! Hey Tev, San Diego will just have climbed a few places in the friendly-city league table now you're there! But now I don't have anyone to say "How 'bout no!" to, dammit. I'll be keeping your DSL warm for you from Monday and I'll start posting some Madrid pictures online soon, so you'll be hearing from us all, fear not. Good luck with the 'sabbatical' - make sure 'the dark side' doesn't getcha!

Sedusa, I know what you mean! I have been back since Wednesday night, and I still cannot get into the routine. Even though we were only in Spain 6 weeks this time, it is so difficult to be back in New York. ( the only thing I don't miss is the horrendous heat in Madrid the last few days we were there). Thanks again to Jer and Ena for a really nice time at La Caserola. Juliette, it was so nice to sit and talk with you...buena suerte con todo...Shawn ( thanks for suggesting the ice cream!!)and Chica, I loved meeting you guys after "feeling " like I knew you already. Finally, Marta : what a coincidence that you spent a year in our neighborhood here in New York! I hope we can keep in touch!

Marcela,
It gets better (as I say this biting my tongue). It took me a loooooong time to get used to the US again, but I think I have done it. And I finally don't start every sentence with "In Spain..." I'm only doing it a few times a day. lol

:jeje: Since my classes begin next month, at least I can say" well in Spain..." without getting my friends and family rolling their eyes at me...
