Not that I believe everything I read in the press, but the 4th Estate seems to be making a big thing of racial epithets supposedly used by Madrid fans against some brit soccer players. One headline even said this could hurt Madrid's Olympic chances.
Was the episode as described, and could damage be done to Olympic hopes?
I usually don't follow soccer ("football", I think is more the correct word) but I seem to recall something called "Rowdies" from the UK....was this similar?
Being the eternal optimist I am already making plans to bring several friends to the Olympics in Madrid, to show them my favourite haunts, to point out Jer's apartment at Plaza Mayor,etc.
