I would assume that he called you "pollones" which means "big pricks". That's what I would say, but then again, I wasn't there.

Anyone else would like to add to this discussion?

MrMad, I think Redwood has hit the nail on the head Eeker Eeker Eeker

But then again, maybe he said "tienen" or "tenis" ("you have") before the "pollones" and it was really a complement Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

Either way, you will only find that word in a "nasty dictionary" Red Face

Saludos,
jer...

Wild guess: "polln" is from "polla" not "pollo"? Given the English "poultry" term for male genitalia, I'm sure that many learners of Spanish manage to embarrass themselves on this one. Kind of like trying to say "I'm so embarrassed" and winding up saying "I'm so pregnant". Let's see: to say "I'm so embarrassed" would be "Estoy tan avergonzada" or would that indicate "shame" a far more serious situation...?

Sue,

You are right about the polln cominh from "polla". To say "I am so embarrased.", I would say, "Estoy muy avergonzado." When you use "tan", you need to complete the sentence. It's like you are at the top of a hill on a rollercoaster and can't down. It has to do with intonation and voice inflection.

Mi hermano y su novia cenaron anoche en VIPS. El no tena dinero suficiente para pagar la cuenta. Estaba tan avergonzado que no poda decir ni una palabra a ella.

I hope this helps.
